Meet the Team
The organizers of Japan Habba are active representatives from the Bangalore Japanese language and culture communities, or reputed Japanese organizations - with a common goal of promoting Japanese culture in Bangalore, and encouraging mutual cultural exchange between India and Japan.
Nivi Pal
Core Committee (Sponsorship & Design)
Originally joined the Japan Habba committee in 2018 when the event was being organized at my university. Early on, I was largely responsible for publicity. After being involved with program planning, sponsorship, PR, design and development, event planning and finances between 2021-2023, I am returning to implement the new sponsorship structure.
Chihayafuru and CLAMP fan. Fan of Japanese RPGs such as Pokémon, Shin Megami Tensei and The World Ends With You.
Meghna V. Ravoor
An ardent lover of Japan and Japanese culture, I have dedicated the better part of the last decade to learning Japanese, imbibing the culture and working with Japanese people professionally. I work at the Consulate General of Japan in Bengaluru and on my downtime, I volunteer to organise various events themed around Japan to provide a platform for fellow Japanophiles and Japanese expats in the city to interact and grow as a community.
I have been associated with Japan Habba for the past 6 years. With a background in architecture, designing spaces is my passion. All my interests come together at Japan Habba, where I contribute as the Venue Design coordinator.
Pavithra Dashmi Parthan
Since I started studying Japanese in 2008, and ever since then, I have been involved with the Japan Habba, my passion for Japan has been growing. From actively participating in events across Bangalore, to working in Japanese organizations (currently with JETRO) and having lived in Japan, my life is heavily influenced by Japan in every possible way. In an effort to give back to Japan as well as support my mentor Hata-sensei and perpetuate the Japan Habba tradition—which he started—I hope to make Japan Habba an exciting, enjoyable, informative, and unforgettable experience for everyone who attends.
Darshan V.
I was previously a member of the events at Japan Habba, and will be working on PR this year as a core committee member.
I am your friendly neighborhood tech bro who also happens to be quite innovative. My strength lies in my interpersonal skills, honed through hosting, organizing, and attending various events. Over the years, I've made it a habit to learn something new every day, which comes in handy when I'm crafting solutions for tech, communication, and everything in between. But you'll mostly find me cracking horrible puns or queuing up for a game of League.
Hriday Kiran Shetty
I've been contributing to JH as a part of the Anime Quiz team since 2020.
This year, I will be handling pop culture events as a part of the core committee.

After volunteering at Japan Habba 2023, I will be officially joining as a core committee member this year. Responsible for logistics and volunteer management.
A fan of anime, Japanese food, and folklore, my greatest wish is to complete my "Natsume Yuujinchou" gacha set. A polyglot who is byelingual most of the times.
